Bramble and Apple Crumble

Yum, one of my favourite puddings.

Imogen has been bramble picking and we had 2 containers full of juicy brambles in the fridge. It's a bit hard to get to everything and move around at the moment with all the decorating etc that's going on, so a nice simple bramble and apple crumble was an easy thing to throw together nice and quickly without needing too much workspace either.

I like to soften my apples a little first.

Lots of oats added to make it a wee bit healthier :)
One to take round to Adam as well.

Delicious with some evaporated milk and a little ice cream.

Take care

  1. Yum yum, Cheryl! Just been out blackberrying with my husband but round here I'm afraid there's none to be had ... Lots of the flowers are rotting, probably due to all the wet weather ... What am I to do? Got lots of blackberry vodka and bramble jelly planned, and refuse to pay over a £1 for a few berries from the supermarket! Oh well, sorry for rambling, there's always next year ...

Ages and ages since I've had blackberry and apple crumble and it looks absolutely delicious.
Blackberry picking is fun! Trouble is I used to eat more than I'd bring home. Mother used to get very annoyed.

    keep well

  9. I used to pick wild blackberries as a kid. Eventually my mother started going to a blackberry farm where the berries were bigger and juicier. Still have fond memories of picking though -- scratched hands and all!

  11. It's that time of year again isn't it. I can't wait to go bramble picking and I love any kind of crumble. Apple and bramble sounds delicious. I have been attempting to make jam of late so I may just try and make some bramble jam.
    Enjoy your crumble :))
