What a horrible time I've just had. I suppose I haven't done too badly, but I've just had my first case of very nasty toothache culminating in a tooth out. I'm a teeth cruncher, I don't grind, just clench very hard when I'm sleeping... apparently. One of my back teeth had a hairline crack in it (I do wear a mouth guard at night) and hasn't been 'OK' for a couple of years, but this was unbearable. I went to the dentist on Monday and started antibiotics, Wednesday and had the nerve removed and Friday he took the offender out.
Ouch, what a horrible time it was and one I really wouldn't like to go through again, though now I've had a tooth removed I wouldn't be quite as terrified if one had to come out again, I was grateful to see the back of it, though it did shatter in my mouth as he pulled it out.
I haven't done much of anything, but I did pick up my crochet from time to time.
I hear this Minion is going to be called Dave.
And some buzzing about...
I shall now go and try to do some blog catching up as I haven't felt like being on the laptop much recently.
Take care

I feel your pain with the cracked tooth. I broke 7 of mine over a period of around 12 months. My problems stem from the fact that most of my top and bottom teeth don't meet, so all the pressure is going through just a few of them.
ReplyDeleteHow awful Scarlet, I can't imagine, hope it's sorted now xx
DeleteI am so sorry about the tooth. I also clench, and have a crack we are watching, I am not thrilled with the prospect of getting it out. I have a mouth guard and frankly could not live without it.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon,
Meredith
It was my back tooth at the bottom, I'm just hoping the others don't start taking more pressure now. I went from not wanting to have a tooth out last year to being desperate to pull it out last week xx
DeleteI am a jaw clencher and teeth grinder and have had similar problems, so I can sympathise. Hope that you are over the worst now and on the mend soon Cheryl. I love your little bee! Too cute. Take care of yourself. xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Amy, definitely feeling better xx
DeleteYikes I also feel your pain. I am terrified of going to the dentist and had to have a tooth taken out a year or so ago. Not fun!!! Hope your mouth is fine now :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, much better xx
DeleteOh no! I am really experiencing all the memories and emotions around such problems Cheryl and am so sorry you had to go through such a bad time; it sounds like your dentist tried to save the tooth but couldn't? I wish you a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteIt was obviously well worth while picking up the hook - such lovely results - so very cute! Healing hug, Joy x
He said he would try, but was still agony after removing the nerve so had to go. Feeling better now though xx
DeleteOh, I do hate a toothache. I'm going this Wednesday to have my bottom 2 wisdom teeth out, and I'm dreading it.
ReplyDeleteThe minion is great, but that wee bumblebee is do die for! I must make one!
Andrea
Just focus on how much better it will be afterwards xx
DeleteOoh ow ! You poor thing, it's making me clench my teeth as I type !
ReplyDeleteHope you're on the mend now, it's amazing the curing power of crochet isn't it ?
Kate x
Crochet definitely has therapeutic powers xx
DeleteWatched Despicable Me 2 yesterday and loved it ! Your little minion is adorable ( I would actually really like my own little group of real minions ). I have found the best ever pattern for a minion hat on Ravelry - just wondering who to make it for !
ReplyDeleteKx
My daughter loves minions xx
DeleteHope your feel better soon - I hate going to the dentist.
ReplyDeleteLove the crochet

DeleteOh dear Cheryl that does sound awful. I am so sorry you had to go through this, lets hope that is it and you never have to experience it again. I love your little minion and you buzzy, they are super cute! Happy new year to you and I hope you have a fabulous year ahead xoxo
ReplyDeleteHappy new year to you and yours too xx
DeleteYikes! I hope you bought yourself a big present after surviving that tooth ordeal! The crochet projects are so cute, hope they put a smile on your face! Chrissie x
ReplyDeleteThank you, I received lots of wonderful TLC from my amazing husband xx
DeleteOoh, poor you. I hope you feel better now.
ReplyDeleteLove from Mum

Thank you, much better xx
DeleteGlad you survived your tooth ordeal. I really hate going to the dentist. I can sympathize. Hope you heal fast. Your little bee is so cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you, he is sweet isn't he xx
DeleteOh, dear. That sounds terrible. I need to go on Friday to have an old silver filling removed because it's cracked and probably "leaking" underneath which will lead to a new cavity in the same place. I hope you feel better soon. I really love that little bee!
ReplyDeleteSorry to read about your nasty experience at the dentists. I hope you're recovered soon. Jx
ReplyDeleteOuch, hope you feel better now that it's all over and done with. I had to have a filling replaced recently, the first thing I've had done with my teeth for about thirty years, I was terrified. I've got a crack in one of my back teeth so I'm hoping that doesn't get any worse. On a positive note, I love your cute crochet.
ReplyDeleteToothache is very painful indeed, and I hope you are feeling better now. The crocheted bumblebee is adorable. x
ReplyDeleteOh dear! hope you are better now. That buzzy bee is so sweet. I have managed to finish my Elise Shawl, take a look - it is a fab pattern. Jo x
ReplyDeletePoor you, what a horrible, painful experience! I hope you are feeling better now. I love your crochet, especially the adorable bee!
ReplyDeleteHelen xx
Oh my....I'm a clencher too and I also wear a mouth guard at night. What's a clencher to do. Why oh why do we do it? I LOVE the bee! Must make one. Did you have a pattern or just think it up on your own?
ReplyDeleteCindy Bee
Hope you get better soon, and your little bee is very cute x
ReplyDeleteI totally sympathise re. the horrors of tooth extraction having had two out recently for similar reasons ... another 'clencher' here. I hope your mouth is all healed now x
ReplyDeleteCheryl, that sounds terrible! So sorry you had to go through that. Your crochet project is adorable!
ReplyDeleteToothache arghh, Oh my goodness how I am so terrified of both toothache and the dentist. My very first job was as a dental nurse years ago ,I lasted three weeks it has scarred me for life and I only go to have teeth extracted I refuse to have fillings. I have been thinking that I should get therapy .I am so frightened I have to be sedated just to sit in the chair. You are very brave. hope you feel better
ReplyDeleteYour little bee is my favourite
Sorry to hear you've have had to go to the dentist......that's my own worst nightmare! I admit I have a very nice dentist but just the thought of having to go makes me quiver!!! I am such a coward! All best in the end though and I hope it is all sorted now and you are feeling better. Love that cute bee ...... great idea!
ReplyDeleteTake care now!
Amanda :-)
Hey....you ok?
