It didn't last long, but while it was up there not covered in clouds, we made the most of it. We've been spending lots of time in the garden, tidying, painting and some planting. I had hoped today would be nice and I could take a couple of garden photos, but it's been raining on and off for the last few days.
I've been wanting to take little Zackary to our lovely park for a while now. It isn't easy to plan a trip out with our little grandson as he still needs to be in his pushchair and I use a wheelchair and we only have one Andrew to push us! It was such a beautiful sunny day on Friday last week, it was perfect for me to use my brilliant new scooter (the one my parents so generously bought me for my birthday back in February). We reminded Holly and Adam to drop off the pushchair with Zackary in the morning and set off after Zack's lunch. Andrew pushed Zackary and I rode alongside on my scooter, we had a lovely walk around the park then went to see the animals.
They've introduced some new ones since we last went, some gorgeous tiny marmosets, they were so deliciously cute. We also had a cockatoo shouting 'hello' at us as well as all sorts of other feathered friends. The lamas were sunning themselves, watching the people walk by.
I held Zackary up to see the birds, but he remained unimpressed
There were wallabies, deer, emus and peacocks
It was such a beautiful day and I'm hoping that we shall be spending many hours over the coming weeks and months showing Zack what a wonderful park we have. I think it was quite tiring being pushed around all afternoon.
Though he soon woke up when we came home again, here are Andrew and Zackary having some boy time together.
He is growing so tall, already a big boy for 8 months old. He crawls around so fast, but that's only when there's no furniture (or fingers) to pull himself up on and walk around. We've had to move things and push things away from the edge and those small hands that can't wait to get hold of his nanny's things.
Someone else was enjoying the sunshine last week, I think Gary is looking quite chilled out posing in the sun.
Take care

'Your' park does both look and sound lovely. How lovely to make the most of the sunshine and take your Zachary to enjoy the sights and animals. I love Zachary's red hair. Scootering around on that scooter of yours does sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteIsn’t his hair gorgeous, I love it to bits. We are so lucky to have such an amazing park so close to us x
DeleteGrandchildren bring so much joy don't they?
ReplyDeleteMine are all grown up now the youngest being 9 and the eldest 28. That park is something else with all those animals, the nearest park like that for us is Drusillas.

I love being a grandmother, all the joy without the sleepless nights. The animal enclosure is an extra special element in the park x
DeleteWhat a lovely day to take your grandson to the park. He sure is a big boy for 8 months and cute as a button!
ReplyDeleteHe is a big boy, outgrowing his clothes so quickly x
DeleteWasnt it wonderful to have that short time of sun! We sat in the garden under a parasol! Naturally , the next day it rained. Your grandson is growing so quickly!
ReplyDeleteIt was wonderful, I just hope it comes back and stays longer x
DeleteYou are lucky to have such a wonderful park, we do have to make the most of the sunshine on the days we get some don't we.
ReplyDeleteBonnie isn't crawling, she doesn't really seem interested in crawling on her hands and knees, she gets in the position but then doesn't seem to like being on her front, Joanne keeps wishing she would crawl, I told her that she would wish she would sit still once she's mobile, lol
My son couldn’t wait for Zack to crawl and for him to walk, we keep saying don’t rush it away x
DeleteDon't they grow up so fast, he'll be walking in no time and then you'll need eyes in the back of your head. Your scooter will come into its own this summer when you want to get out and about with Zackary, it was such a wonderful gift from your parents. How lovely to have such a fabulous park close by, I'm sure it'll be somewhere that Zackary looks forward to visiting with you. Awww, Gary could be a little ornament sat there in the sunshine.
ReplyDeleteIt already feels like I can’t take my eyes off him for a moment. Haha, Gary does look like a little statue x
DeleteIt looks like you all had a great time at the park. Little Zack will be entering an interesting phase as he starts to become mobile and able to explore. Little Gary looks like he was enjoying the sunshine too.
ReplyDeleteMitzi
He certainly is exploring everything, nothing’s safe x
DeleteWhat an amazing park to stroll around with your gorgeous grandson creating some great memories to treasure.
ReplyDeleteWe are so lucky to have the park so close to us, it’s such a beautiful place x

Thank you Sheila x
DeleteOh my the time passes so quickly and don't babies grow so quickly.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see all of your photographs.
Here's hoping for lots more sunny days and visits to the park.
All the best Jan
It’s so cold and dull today, it’s hard to believe that was only last week x
DeleteWhat a fun post.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun seeing all the fun you all enjoyed.
Happy Days ahead for sure. ;-)
Happy days and a lovely summer x
DeleteZackary is full of life isn't he. He's going to keep everyone busy.
ReplyDeleteA lovely day out Cheryl. X
I find myself quite exhausted by Friday evenings, certainly keeping us on our toes x
DeleteMy hasn't he grown.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice park for you all to enjoy - not this weekend though with all the rain they say we are to have.
Wow Zackary has gotten so big. Hard to believe he is 8 months old already.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful day.
He is just so adorable, look at the color of his hair! So glad you had a lovely time together.
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific park you have to visit. All those animals to see. Your little grandson is going to have a wonderful time going out on jaunts with you both.

First of all I want to say wonderful blog! I had a quick question in which I'd like
ReplyDeleteto ask if you do not mind. I was interested to know how you center yourself and
clear your thoughts prior to writing. I've had a tough time clearing
my thoughts in getting my ideas out there.
I truly do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like
the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually lost simply just trying to
figure out how to begin. Any recommendations
or tips? Kudos!
