Should I apologise for that title, oops, I couldn't resist it!
I am very excited about this though
I do rather like stag heads, and had my beady eye on a lovely wooden one for the conservatory last year, but was unfortunately vetoed by my hubby as he really doesn't like them.
Then he saw this little one, actually a Christmas decoration, and swooped it up for me. I love it and he sits proudly above my door so every time I lift my head up I see him and smile, even Andy is growing to like him!
I've been busy crocheting a new wreath for Christmas. A nice simple one with just a bit of Christmas ribbon.
I should be making more for Christmas, I'm starting to feel a bit overwhelmed by how many things I should be doing. I have started a hat, but I'm not sure yet if I'm going to like it, have to see how it goes.
I did have a moment of extravagance the other day... it was a special offer, end of line. There wasn't much left and it looked a bit lonely, so home with me it came.
Not sure yet what it's purpose will be
Something warm and cosy.
Take care

Your stag looks great Cheryl, I wonder if you can get away with leaving him up all year round! My giveaway prize arrived today, thank you! I will show pics on my blog tomorrow. xx
ReplyDeleteHee, I'm hoping he may have a permanent home there xx
DeleteHello Cheryl
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for your comments on my last post. :-) I do that....buy yarn and I don't what it's for but cannot resist an offer....it always gets used though.
Now if you had said to me I have a stag's head above my door I might just raise my eyebrows a little .....I'm not keen on animal heads at all but on seeing it I'd say that is so different and really stands out! I very much like the wreath....not too ornate...nice! Did you use a pattern?
keep well
Amanda :-)
Thank you, no pattern, just used up some yarn from my stocking garland xx
DeleteLove the stag's head.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Thank you, you too xx
DeleteLove the stags head, and the wreath your made has fab colours, Is the your bargain wool chenille?
ReplyDeleteThank you, I think so, very soft xx
DeleteI love the stags head, after all its not a real one is it? I wouldn't like a real one. lol
ReplyDeleteI love the bargain chenille yarn, would be really useful in my blocks I'm sure.

Bit small to be a real one, and sparkly xx
DeleteI think I prefer your lovely stags head to a wooden one. I havent done anything for christmas yet either, to be honest I havent really thought much about it. It will be here before we know it though.
ReplyDeleteIt does creep up fast doesn't it xx
DeleteNot too sure about the stag's head but love the wreath.
ReplyDeleteLove from Mum

A great title, deer. Groan! I think your stags head is much nicer than a wooden one, and I'm loving the wreath, sometimes less is more.
ReplyDeleteI think so too, thank you xx

ReplyDeleteHmmm, not sure yet xx
DeleteI really like your 'understated' wreath Cheryl - very sweet, and that new yarn is very interesting with all its beautiful colours - the stag's head? I'm not sure on that one, but I do like your post title! I hope your weekend is going well. Hugs, Joy x

I'm sharing the overwhelmed feeling for Christmas makes with you as really I haven't started as I'm so focused in this village gifts night in three weeks. I suspect December is going to be busy. Loving the look if all that yarn!!! Xoxoxo

DeleteHi Cheryl, your christmas wreath is so pretty. What yarn did you use? It looks a little bit metallic, I really like it! Lovely yarn too....I'm always buying yarn with no idea as to what I'll use it for :) xoxox
ReplyDeleteI think it was Stylecraft, left over from another project xx

That stag's head is fab! I like them very much and have often wanted one. I look great above the door. Nice wreath, too. x
ReplyDeleteOOh my daughter has just had a little spend and home came the stags head from London, with us...Very dandy...hehe! I am sure some thing toasty and warm will be created with all the delightful yarn....Enjoy! Hugs Maria x
ReplyDeleteI love the Stags head. I've seen them made out of paper mâché and wonder if they couldn't be painted to look like that! I just made a hat for my Mom that I didn't like until I finished it. Then I liked it a lot. So hang in there.
ReplyDeleteCindy Bee
I love your crochet wreath. I'm looking for something uncomplicated to knit or crochet whilst watching tv and this looks ideal. The yarn is gorgeous xx
ReplyDeleteI don't like real stags' heads but yours is lovely!
ReplyDeleteI see a cushion in that yarn, though don't ask me why. Love the stag's head :)
