The new school term started again last week so we're all gradually shrugging off Christmas (oh, but it was such a good one) and getting back into our routines.
I love the idea of a fresh start at the beginning of the year, a new year ready to fill with lots of wonderful things. I've started this year's diary and had a thought about how I'd like to inspire myself this year.
1. I've rejoined Slimming World
2. I've started making regular entries in my journal
3. I plan to use more of my existing craft supplies (rather than buy new, I have so much 'stuff')
4. Start scrapbooking again
5. I have a fitbit and I intend to get more use from it.
6. I'm going to use my arm weights and pedals (I've started with this)
7. Actively seek out more I can do from my wheelchair
8. Be more organised with my housework routine
9. Write more of my 'book'
10. Savour each and every day
We've said farewell to Christmas with the last of our candy canes
We've had a birthday to celebrate
I'm back on track for our healthy eating, healthier lifestyle. I made a bolognese in the multi cooker this afternoon, a big batch so we could have some for dinner and there's plenty to freeze too.
With pasta, cottage cheese and peas, yum
I've rearranged the mantelpiece after taking away the last remnants from Christmas
It means I can show off the adorable little sheep that my boy, Adam, bought me...
and the wooden sign my beautiful girl, Imogen bought me
Full of hope and excitement for 2016. Have you set any challenges for yourself, let's hope it's a wonderful year for everyone
Take care

DeleteHello Cheryl and thank you for popping over to mine and leaving your nice comment. I shall look forward to seeing you achieve your goals. Really good stuff on your list. Was that a slow cooker which you cooked your bolognese in? I've just bought myself one and am looking for recipes. I got a book from the library but someone has put a request in for it so I have to take it back tomorrow (how very dare they, I was just getting started!). All help gratefully received!
ReplyDeleteIt was a multi cooker (has a slow cooker function), I think the secret to slow cooking is just to make sure it doesn't dry out xx
DeleteBest wishes for 2016 to you too. Ten great New Years Resolutions...I wish you well with all of those.
ReplyDeleteThank you, plenty to keep me busy xx
DeleteWith you on No.3, and No.8 and definitely with you on No.10. Hope you reach all of your goals. The bolognaise looks absolutely yummy.

DeleteHello Cheryl - what a lovely, uplifting post! I do love the sheep! I hope that the New Year will see all your dreams and aspirations come to pass - your list is a good one! Loved the cookery photos - isn't it good to get back to 'normal' after all the richness of Christmas? But, it's so good while it's here!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely rest-of-the-week,
Lynda.
It is good to get back to our routine again. The sheep are rather sweet aren't they xx
DeleteYour sheep are so cute! Lots of good plans for the year to come x
ReplyDeleteThank you xx
DeleteYou've set yourself some great goals, I could join in with most of those. Happy birthday to your hubby, I take it the Daddy card is from Imogen. Eleanor still gets us Mummy and Daddy cards even though she's seventeen. Love those cute sheep, they're fab.
ReplyDeleteYes the Daddy card was from Imogen, I think it's sweet that age makes no difference xx
DeleteI did a post today on my blog (finally) and listed some things I want to do this year. I hope you are successful will all your goals.
ReplyDeleteHow cute are those sheep!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all your goals, you're going to be busy.

Happy New Year - a little belated! Good luck with your goals, I like the combination of written, on-line, crafting and exercise. Jx
ReplyDeleteGood for you with those healthy goals. Your pasta dish is making me very hungry!
ReplyDeleteYou truly inspire me Cheryl.
ReplyDeleteI've spent today tying up loose ends, so to speak... getting caught up on little things that got put on hold before the holidays and purging "stuff". After reading this post... tomorrow will be even more productive for me I'm thinking!
