Goodbye Pigleticious

I feel I haven't written a post for ages, and I've missed it. Time flies as usual and most of my crafty endeavours  now are Christmas presents so I don't want to post pictures of them yet, so I don't have very much to show you.

Imogen is 11 now (my youngest baby) and we're starting to say goodbye to some of our Christmas traditions... how sad is that! This is the first year that Imogen's elf Pigleticious hasn't visited with his little bag of magic glitter dust.

He was a mischievous little elf, helping himself to Imogen's cereal

He would arrive with his passport every 1st December and the mayhem would begin when we were all tucked up in bed

Colouring the milk for breakfast... (I just couldn't bring myself to put this in my tea)

Snow angels in the flour

Sometimes he would involve others in his naughty antics, racing through the living room in our slippers

There were many goings on over the years that he visited, and he is going to be very missed

Though at least we won't have to worry about him toasting marshmellows in the living room over the tealights!

Goodbye Pigleticious

I'm happy to report though that Imogen asked me the other day 'we will be making reindeer food for Father Christmas' reindeer won't we?' We certainly will, my heart started to sing again.

Take care

  1. I completely love him and his antics! Please don't let him fade, only another 20 or so years and he can torment and entertain the grand children! Eleanor x

  5. Lovely to see Pigleticious's previous exploits, but sad that he has not been up to anything this year, he must be moving on! Perhaps he will make a surprise return. xx

  7. Loved this post and it really made me smile this morning :) My daughter is 23 now but she still insists on the same traditions like having a stocking on her door and opening it in my bed. Her face crumples if I so much as hint at doing something different 'but it's tradition!'. She would love something like this. x

  10. Awww, how sad. We've said goodbye to lots of our traditions too, though I admit to trying to hang on to them for as long as possible. We're starting on new traditions now the kids are older, I'm sure you'll find some new ones, as well as keep some of the old ones, along the way.

  11. I can understand the age issue and that sometimes it is time to put away our younger selves but the elf is part of the family and perhaps your daughter could be one of his little helpers in setting up the surprises for the family now.

  12. He is adorable! Couldn't he come out every December and entertain those readers of your blog who, like me, have either gone into their second childhood....or never grown out of their first childhood? I want to see what he does next.

  14. Oh no, I've lost my comment. I'll try again.

I had two of my nieces over the weekend and we had a lot of elf fun. Two of my elves ended up jumping in my nieces backpacks and went home with them! I got a call that night! I think you should still do fun stuff with that piglet and Imogen should join in too. Surprising each other! At least put it on the Christmas tree. Because some day, that little piglet elf is going to be surprising her children. So keep it out, keep it moving, keep up the memories!
